The Art of Las Catrinas for El Dia de los Muertos

In this pre-recorded lesson, Michoacan Artist Leonel Nery demonstrates the art of making La Calavera Catrina. “The elegant skull,” known as La Catrina, has become a festive symbol for the Dia de los Muertos, although it has much deeper meanings.

You will also hear from WBLAS Latino Cultural Liaison Briana Santoscoy on the history and cultural importance of El Dia de los Muertos.

If you would like to purchase La Catrina, and support some of our artists and friends in Mexico, please contact José Mario Jimenez at Laiguanaart@yahoo.com.
