We missed the Johnstone Apocalypse, mostly, that was West Coast, but we sure didn’t muss the Rebellion. It didn’t miss us, I know that’s right.

Having nothing else at all worthwhile to do, I rejoined the Losers in Baton Rouge, a Benefit for Newer Orleans. That poor city had been destroyed, again, and the Feds had finally decided to get sane and recreate it uphill, at least a little above sea level. The band this time was Keith Moon Cordoza on drums, Wat Tyler on vocals and guitar, his, call her his girlfriend, Jenna, on vocals, my sort-of-partner Carla, and Keith’s road wife, Autumn, on backup vocals and drum suit, and Col. Jean on keys. What can I say? They needed a bass player.
Connie had been the soul of the band on bass, and… Fuck it. Bass. I used to play a lot of things, but that was then. This was now. Bass. Just a four string, simplest bass made, one pickup, nothing with nothing on the side. A Mexican Fender P-Bass. Fretless. Make it thump, bitch.
